Watching

baqash- to seek, to diligently look for, to search earnestly
until the object of the search is located.

One-So-Very-Small
looks and listens and waits.
I admire his stillness,
it is a posture I aspire to.
I hold his pose in my heart
on days when busyness
and have-tos abound.
On those days I long to fly
and find a perch
to look and listen and wait,
that stillness might break forth into
song.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.
